photo 5An intense one day workshop for women proved to be popular as over 150 sisters attended the course  organised by the IMWS women’s sub-committee.

The Fiqh of Menstruation workshop took place at the Al-hikmah Centre last month under the teaching hand of Ustadha Umm Huzayfah – a specialist in hayd, nifas and istihada – from Zamzam academy, London.

Attendees commented that the programme was very well delivered and the course was split into topics with sufficient Q&A opportuniites, which were well utilised as many of the students had a number of questions to ask.

Feedback received from attendees included remarks on the set-up, location and teaching.

One sister said the course was held in a  “Lovely atmosphere” and it was a “well organised event, super food and super talk!”

Another sister commented it was an “Excellent workshop but maybe could have split the course over two days.”

The content of the course and its advertisement as an intense course proved to be correct to the letter.

Another sister commented there was, “Lots to take in but I have learnt lots of new things. The speaker explained things really well.”

The six-hour session which ran from 10am on the Saturday morning gave a chance for many to not only learn but also rectify any misunderstood rulings regarding the topics.

It had been a rare opportunity for mothers and sisters who had left the traditional madressa many years ago and drew particapants from further than just Batley.

A buffet lunch and course materials were included within the £5 fee.

IMWS women’s committee are looking at organising more courses especially for women and are always looking for more members to join. If you are interested please email [email protected]. IMWS would also like to thank the teacher, staff and volunteers who helped with the workshop.
