IMWS Jordan Visit 2025
In April 28, 2025, Indian Muslim Welfare Society (IMWS) came to Jordan with a mission of helping the most needy communities in the country, including Palestinians.
Home for over 745,000 refugees, including over 655,000 Syrians and almost 100,000 other nationalities. Additionally, more than 2.39 million registered Palestine refugees live in Jordan, the largest number of Palestine refugees of all UNRWA fields, which most, but not all, have full citizenship.
Together with IR Jordan Team, the delegation actively participated in key projects, including distributing school kits, hygiene/medical kits, and food parcels for Palestinian refugees and the host community, and visited a shelter rehabilitation intervention.

In April 28th to 30th, 2025, Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) and Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) facilitated a field visit to Jordan for Indian Muslim Welfare Society (IMWS).
The visit aimed to strengthen IMWS’s ongoing partnership with Islamic Relief and to see for themselves the needs in the ground. IMWS engaged with right holders and IR Jordan (IRJ) team, receiving a promising and impactful firsthand account of the projects’ transformative effects.
The delegation also gathered multimedia content to share with their donor community, reinforcing transparency and trust. Feedback from IMWS highlighted the visit’s success in deepening their commitment to supporting IR’s work, particularly for vulnerable refugee communities.
On the same day, IMWS visited IRJ Mafraq Office where IRJ’s fixed clinic is and checked the medical/hygiene kits. 584 kits were distributed to destitute families residing in the neighboring areas of the IRJ Mafraq office.
Each medical/hygiene kit contained the following:
- 1 Bottle of shower gel
- 4 Bath sponges
- 1 Nails clipper
- 2 Toothpaste tubes
- 4 Toothbrushes
- 4 Small tissue packs
- 2 Wet wipes packs
- 1 Pack of ear cotton buds

- 2 Deodorants
- 1 Pack containing 6 soaps
- 1 Pack of cotton
- 1 Bottle of medical alcohol

During the visit, the fixed clinic was operating with two medical doctors (one male and one female) who were providing primary health services to patients as needed. These services included medical counselling, disease diagnosis, and the prescription of necessary medication, all offered free of charge.
The clinic primarily addressed common conditions such as seasonal allergies and various types of minor bacterial or viral infections, which are frequently observed in the area. In addition to clinical care, the doctors provided health education to patients, emphasizing preventive measures and proper hygiene practices to help reduce the spread of communicable diseases.
The pharmacist was also delivering essential counselling to patients regarding their medications, including instructions on dosage, timing, and proper use to ensure safe and effective treatment.
At the end of the day, one of the clinic’s patients was interviewed and shared her feedback about the services received from the Islamic Relief medical team, expressing her level of satisfaction with the care and support provided.

On the 29th of April 2025, IMWS and IRJ Team went on to targeted Palestinian rights holders living in Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan. A word from IR Jordan’s Country Director:
“IRW supports underprivileged and needy communities in Jordan by attending to their needs and offering aid in a variety of areas, such as health, education, shelter improvement, WASH, FSL, seasonal programs, and Orphan Sponsorship Program.
We focus on disadvantaged populations, such as widows, children, and jobless individuals.
Our goal is to reach marginalized communities in the north, where Syrian refugees are more prevalent, and in the middle, where we are focusing on Palestinian refugees and impoverished Jordanians. Through various sectors, we were able to reach over 100K right holders last year, and we spent over 8M GBP. These help to improve people’s life.
Without your kind donations, all of this would not have been possible to implement on the ground.
I would want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you on behalf of the Jordan squad for your support.”
