paigaam-officer-aug-19The Indian Muslim Welfare Society (IMWS) is one of the largest voluntary community organisation in the Yorkshire & Humberside region. We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who will lead in the preparation and timely publication of the IMWS’s monthly ‘Paigaam’ magazine. The successful candidate will be a skilled writer with a passion for the role, capable of both informing and entertaining our readers.

This role will also entail overseeing IMWS’s community/marketing campaigns to ensure that the appropriate message is relayed to the readership via not only the printed magazine, but more importantly also via the various IMWS’s social media channels.

The other key aspect of the role is to be responsible for maximising the advertising revenue for the magazine by establishing and building relationships with local and national businesses. The successful candidate will need to be educated at a high level and ideally have experience in print media as a journalist / reporter.

They will also possess good level of computer proficiency (MS Office, digital editing, web search) with hands-on experience using ‘WordPress’ Content Management System, alongside skills in typesetting and design work.

A requirement to follow strict deadlines and work collaboratively with IMWS’s Paigaam sub-committee will form part of the role on a monthly basis. You will possess excellent written and communications skills.
